Patriotic Drinks You Can Have All Month



The 4th of July weekend may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate America’s birthday all month long! Whether you’re hosting an afternoon backyard barbeque or enjoying evening drinks with your neighbors, raise a glass to the good ol’ US of A with these patriotic drinks!


Stars & Stripes

This refreshingly fruity layered cocktail pays homage to the red, white, and blue with muddled blueberries, raspberry brandy, and a sugar cube garnish. 

Ingredients

  • 5 fresh blueberries

  • ¼ ounce blueberry vodka

  • ¼ ounce absinthe

  • ¼ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • ¼ ounce simple syrup

  • 1 drizzle raspberry brandy

  • Ginger beer, chilled

  • Garnish: sugar cube

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, muddle the blueberries.

  2. Add vodka, absinthe, lemon juice and simple syrup, and ice; shake until well-chilled.

  3. Pour (unstrained) into a highball glass.

  4. Drizzle with raspberry brandy and top with ginger beer.

  5. Garnish with one sugar cube.


Americano

For something light, festive, and refreshing - not to mention easy to throw together - try the Americano. Its low ABV makes it perfect for a daytime BBQ and allow to celebrate into the evening. 

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice; add Campari and sweet vermouth.

  2. Top with club soda; stir gently to combine.

  3. Garnish with an orange twist.


Watermelon Mojito

While the original Mojito is delicious, the addition of watermelon gives a sweet and refreshing flavor perfect for summer. Plus, you'll be able to raise your glass for National Mojito Day on July 11.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces seedless watermelon, chopped

  • 4 mint leaves

  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar

  • ¼ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice 

  • 1-½ ounces light rum

  • Garnish: lemon twist

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, muddle watermelon and mint with the agave nectar and lime juice.

  2. Add the rum and fill with ice; shake until well chilled,

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.


LiberTea

The two easiest and satisfying party drinks are boozy punch bowls and pitchers of iced tea and lemonade. The LiberTea combines the two in a sweet and sassy beverage. Celebrate freedom from bartending so you can mingle with your guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 black tea bags

  • 4 cups lemonade

  • 1 cup fresh basil

  • ½ cup bourbon

  • 1-½ cup honey liqueur

  • Garnish: lemon wheel

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring two cups of water to a boil.

  2. Remove from heat and add the tea bags; let steep for 8-10 minutes.

  3. Add the lemonade and an additional 2 cups of water.

  4. Transfer mixture to a pitcher and let chill.

  5. Stir in the basil, crush with a spoon until fragrant.

  6. Stir in the bourbon and honey liqueur.

  7. Pour into 4 tall glasses filled with ice, garnish each glass with a lemon wheel.

 

Boozy Root Beer Float

Nothing’s more American than a root beer float on a hot summer afternoon. Adding some rum adds the perfect adult twist on a childhood classic. 

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream

  • 1 ounce rum

  • Root beer, chilled

Instructions

  1. In a tall glass, add ice cream and rum.

  2. Slowly pour root beer into the glass until full; stir gently to combine.
